While working with entrepreneurs through fund management, the foundation also encourages innovative ideas to help start businesses that would build the community. In 2018, we started the “Nishike Mkono” initiative, which translates to “hold my hands”. We donated revolving start-up capital to women groups, which is a social enterprise approach commonly known as table banking. First, members are given 60 USD per person. The individual will then use this to launch their business and generate daily income, pertinent to gaining and sustaining profits, as well as their families.
